TURKMENISTAN – TÜRKIYE: EXPANSION OF MUTUALLY BENEFICIAL COOPERATION

On July 1, 2022, the 6th meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish Commission on Economic Cooperation was held in the capital with the participation of the heads of leading ministries and departments of Turkmenistan and a representative delegation that arrived in our country, headed by Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye Fuat Oktay.

During the meeting, the fruitful nature and growing dynamics of bilateral relations in the trade and economic field, the important role of the joint Intergovernmental Commission in the development of effective interaction between the two countries were emphasized.

In a number of topical areas of interaction, such important areas for both states as construction and the building materials industry, energy, transport, food industry, agriculture, strengthening mutual contacts through business and entrepreneurial structures were identified. In this regard, issues of further promotion and expansion of the range of products of Turkmen and Turkish manufacturers in the markets of the two countries were discussed.

Expressing the invariable commitment of Turkmenistan and Türkiye to centuries-old good neighborly relations, the members of the Commission outlined a number of concrete steps to diversify cooperation in all promising areas. It was noted that the participation of representatives of the two countries in international conferences and other forums organized in Turkmenistan and Türkiye will contribute to the expansion of contacts.

Based on the results of the meeting of the Commission, the final protocol was signed.

On this day, the Turkmen-Turkish business forum was also held, the main topic of which was the intensification of bilateral partnership in the context of long-term plans for the future.

As part of an interested exchange of views, representatives of the business circles of the Republic of Türkiye, noting the prospects of the Turkmen market, where all conditions for successful investment activities are created, expressed their readiness to establish new areas of mutually beneficial trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation, as well as to establish interaction in other industries.
