PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN ARRIVED IN SAMARKAND TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SCO SUMMIT AS AN HONORED GUEST

On September 15, 2022, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in Samarkand on a working visit to participate in the SCO Summit as an honored guest.

At the Samarkand International Airport, the head of state was met by officials of Uzbekistan and members of the government delegation of Turkmenistan.

The flagpoles raised the State flags of the countries participating in the SCO Summit. On both sides of the carpet path leading from the plane's ladder, the guard of honor is lined up. Flowers were presented to the distinguished Turkmen guest.

On the eve of the upcoming SCO Summit tomorrow, September 16, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who arrived in Samarkand, held a number of bilateral meetings with his foreign colleagues - President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as well as with the Secretary General of the Shanghai cooperation organization Zhang Ming.

The meetings held on the sidelines of the summit became a reflection of the proactive position of the Turkmen side to further expand multidimensional cooperation built on the principles of equality, trust and mutual benefit.

Also, within the framework of the first day of the working visit, the head of Turkmenistan visited the Mausoleum of the first President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov in the memorial complex "Khazrati Khizr", where, in tribute to the blessed memory of the outstanding state and political figure of our time, who made a huge personal contribution to the strengthening and development of fraternal Turkmen-Uzbek relations, laid a wreath at his grave.

In the evening, the motorcade of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov headed to the Park of Honored Guests, where the head of state planted a tree, which has become another symbol of the strong ties of friendship between the fraternal countries and their peoples.
