MEETING AT THE MFA OF TURKMENISTAN WITH A DELEGATION OF THE ASIA-PACIFIC FORUM

On October 4, 2022, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajiyev met with a special delegation of the Asia-Pacific Forum for capacity assessment of the Office of the Ombudsman of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, issues related to the expansion of international cooperation in the field of human rights were discussed. In this regard, the active interaction of the Office of the Authorized Representative for Human Rights of Turkmenistan - Ombudsman with authoritative international structures, in particular, the UN and its relevant specialized agencies, as well as the OSCE, was indicated.

The Turkmen side informed about the distinctive activities of the Office of the Ombudsman of Turkmenistan, the results achieved during the period of its existence. During the talks were also announced the necessary measures to improve and strengthen the capacity of the Office of the Ombudsman of the country, in order to more effectively fulfill its mandate.
