MEETING WITH THE PRINCIPAL DEPUTY ASSISTANT SECRETARY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE’S BUREAU OF ARMS CONTROL, VERIFICATION AND COMPLIANCE

On October 5, 2022, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan V.Hajiyev held negotiations with the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Department of State’s Bureau of Arms Control, Verification and Compliance Paul Dean.

Various areas of bilateral cooperation in the field of security were discussed at the meeting.

The parties considered issues on the regional and international agenda, stressed the need to effectively counter modern challenges and threats, and discussed the ways of confidence-building measures in arms control, as well as the fulfillment of international obligations in this area.

Particular attention was paid to bilateral cooperation through various international and regional organizations.

Along with this, an exchange of views took place on topical issues of regional and international issues of mutual interest.
