MEETING WITH THE DEPUTY GOVERNOR OF GOLESTAN PROVINCE OF IRAN AT THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF TURKMENISTAN

On October 13, 2022, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan V.Hajiyev met with the Deputy Governor of Golestan Province of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Mohammad Dahnawi.

During the meeting, the parties noted that interstate relations between Turkmenistan and Iran are actively developing based on the principles of equality, mutual respect and good neighborliness.

An exchange of views took place on the development of relations between the regions of the two countries - the Balkan velayat and Golestan province. In this context, issues of trade and economic cooperation between aforementioned regions were discussed, in particular, the exchange of visits of delegations in the spheres of agriculture, construction, industry, and others.

Attention was paid to the expansion of transport and logistics links, whereas the possibilities of increasing cargo transportation between the seaports of the two countries in the Caspian Sea were especially considered.

The issues of cultural and humanitarian interaction were also discussed. In this regard, the parties noted the importance of holding a number of joint cultural events dedicated to the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi.
