THE OFFICIAL VISIT OF THE CHAIRMAN OF THE HALK MASLAKHATY OF THE MILLI GENGESH OF TURKMENISTAN TO THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION STARTED

On November 1, 2022, the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, left for an official visit to the Russian Federation.

As part of the program of the visit, carried out at the invitation of the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko, a number of bilateral meetings are planned in Moscow to promote the further development of inter-parliamentary relations and, in general, traditionally friendly Turkmen-Russian relations.

At the Moscow International Airport "Vnukovo-2" Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was warmly and cordially welcomed by the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko and other officials.

In the afternoon, the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan proceeded to the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. Here, in the foyer, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was cordially greeted by the Speaker of the Upper House of the Russian Parliament Valentina Matviyenko.

Then, in the Reception Hall, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko, which was held in an expanded format, with the participation of members of official delegations of the two countries.

At the end of the meeting, the signing ceremony of the Agreement between the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on the establishment of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission on Cooperation between the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation took place.

Then the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan and the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation addressed the representatives of the media.

At the end of the press conference, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Valentina Matviyenko proceeded to the lobby, where they became spectators of the performance of young artists of the Domisolka Children's Musical Theater. On behalf of the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, young Russian artists were presented with gifts.
