A MEETING WITH A DELEGATION OF THE TURKISH PARLIAMENT WAS HELD AT THE MEJLIS OF THE MILLI GENGESH OF TURKMENISTAN

On November 18, 2022, in the Mejlis of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, a meeting was held with a parliamentary delegation that arrived in our country on a visit, headed by the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkiye Mustafa Sentop.

During the meeting with the Chairman of the Mejlis G. Mammedova, which was held in a narrow format, with the participation of the heads of the committees of this structure, issues of exchange of experience in lawmaking, as well as prospects for inter-parliamentary cooperation in the interests of the peoples of the two countries were discussed.

The head of the Parliament and representatives of the delegation of the Republic of Turkiye were acquainted with the main functions and tasks of the Mejlis of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, its composition and activities in the light of the cardinal reforms initiated by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in the law-making sphere, the improvement of which is designed to accelerate the ongoing large-scale reform programs of state development.

After the meeting in a narrow format, the Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye, Mustafa Şentop, addressed the deputies.

Addressing the audience, Mustafa Sentop conveyed greetings and best wishes from the President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the entire Turkish people to the parliamentarians and people of the friendly country.

Speaking about the need to further strengthen inter-parliamentary relations, Mustafa Sentop noted the importance of building up contacts between the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye and the Mejlis of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan.

Our countries are successfully cooperating both in the economy and in the fields of transport, energy and many other areas, the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament stated, confirming Turkiye's desire to build up a fruitful partnership that contributes to a universal and just world.

At the end of his speech, the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament expressed his gratitude to Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who has made a significant contribution to strengthening the ties between the two friendly countries for many years, and also thanked the Chairman of the Mejlis of the Milli Gengesh G. Mammedova for the ongoing activities to strengthen the Turkmen-Turkish inter-parliamentary dialogue.

Mammedova expressed her gratitude to the distinguished guest for a meaningful speech, wishing the Speaker of the Parliament of the friendly country and Turkish colleagues further success in their activities that meet the goals of common well-being and prosperity.
