Turkmenistan continues its activities as Vice-Chairman of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly

On March 16, a meeting of the UN General Assembly was held under the chairmanship of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, which was chaired by the Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the United Nations Ambassador Aksoltan Ataeva, a briefing was held by the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Myanmar, Ms. Noeleen Heyzer.

During the briefing, the Special Envoy paid special attention to humanitarian assistance, the protection of civilians, as well as the development of a common position on the upcoming elections in Myanmar.

Turkmenistan was elected Vice-Chairman of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in June 2022.
