Turkmenistan and Ireland discussed cooperation in the UN, and agreed to strengthen the principles of neutrality
On May 9, 2023, at the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan Ambassador Aksoltan Ataeva, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the United Nations, met with Ambassador Fergal Mythen, Permanent Representative of Ireland to the UN.
During the meeting, a constructive exchange of views took place on priority areas of cooperation between the two countries within the UN, issues of enhancing participation in peacekeeping operations, combating climate change, and water management.
Ambassadors noted that Turkmenistan and Ireland, as neutral countries and members of the Group of Friends of Neutrality, pay special attention to strengthening peace and trust in international relations, in particular on the platform of the United Nations.
